ImmunoCAP® ISAC is an advanced in vitro diagnostic test using biochip technology. The test allows for the simultaneous measurement of specific antibodies to multiple allergen components in a single test. More comfortable than traditional skin testing, the ImmunoCAP® test only needs a few µl of serum or plasma to produce results. The specific IgE chip delivers results for more than one hundred components from more than 50 allergen sources. The allergens are pre-selected and include the most relevant species specific and cross-reactive markers.

ImmunoCAP® and ThermoFisher are at the forefront of component, molecular allergy testing; a breakthrough in allergy diagnostics that skin testing in its most refined forms could never achieve. The possibility for future molecular component diagnostic testing for both food and environmental proteins, and the resulting therapies, is breathtaking. Molecular testing for peanut, milk and egg protein already exists. We can now tell a parent not only that their child has peanut allergy, but also identify the types and severity of reactions that might occur via their component profile.
